Successful performance of ASIS at the ILA 2010

With a record participation of 1,153 exhibitors from 47 countries the International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition ILA 2010 in Berlin came to an end on 13th of June.

The experts as well as private visitors were extremely satisfied with this year's fair. The exhibiting companies were able to conclude contracts and business agreements worth a total of around € 14 billion. The largest order came from the airline Emirates, which ordered 32 aircraft with Airbus for the A380 to the list's total price of about $ 11,500,000,000.

The ASIS was represented alongside 10 other Saxon exhibitors at the booth of the Saxony Economic Development and could be pleased with a lot of interest from the audience. The international orientation of the joint initiative, which presents and strengthen the Saxon aerospace industry, could be further developed on the ILA: there were numerous discussions with international partners, especially from Japan, Canada, Russia and Switzerland. "In particular, the existing cooperation with Russia has been deepened to meet with senior representatives of the Russian aeropace industry," said Michael Muth, Managing Director of ASIS. The joint initiative also welcome the Saxon State Minister for Economic Affairs, Mr. Sven Morlok and the Head of the Department of Economics at the Saxon Ministry of Economy, Barbara Meyer to their stand.

At the ILA came also to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Federal Association of German Aerospace Industry (BDLI) and the Union of Russian Aviation Industry (UAI), the Russian Aerospace Association, with the aim to promote mutual relationship. In the run up ASIS could provide some support.

Parallel to the ILA were held the 3rd European Air Transport Conference on "The aviation industry of tomorrow" and a roundtable on "cooperation potential of innovations in the aviation industry." The panel 4 of the Congress, which deals with "Germany as a location for industrial investment in air transport: The Free State of Saxony" has been moderated by Michael Muth.
