At the highly regarded trade mission headed by the Prime Minister of Saxony Stanislaw Tillich and the Saxon State Minister for Economy and Labor Thomas Jurk from 20th to 25th April this year took part Hr. Muth, Managing Director of ASIS and designed the talks and visits to companies in the Russian aerospace industry in the interest of the traveling representative of  business.

According to Tillich, the Saxon Minister President, Russia is "by far the most important destination for foreign business outside the EU".

Even before the trip Minister Jurk stressed the "excellent prospects" for Saxon companies in Russia. For him it was the sixth trip to the Russian Federation during his tenure. "From 2005 to 2008, we have tripled our exports to Russia more than" said Minister Jurk.

Despite a decline in imports from Russia in the first quarter of this year, the interest of business in this market is very large. More than 50 business representatives attended the Saxon government delegation, because in time of crisis its important to care contacts

The outstanding event was the meeting between Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of Saxony Tillich with correspondingly large resonance in the media. Here, the re-establishment of a direct flight between Moscow and Saxony was raised. It is now certain that there will be starting this summer by Aeroflot again a direct air link between Moscow and Dresden and the airline Blue Wings also flights from the Russian capital to Leipzig.

A second important event in relation to the aviation industry was the meeting of Prime Minister Stanislaw Tillich, the CEO of EADS Elbe Aircraft GmbH Dr. Andreas Sperl and other representatives from politics and economy with Alexey Fedorov, President of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) and other representatives of the UAC management. Based on the for two years existing joint venture, "Airbus Freighter Conversion" between Airbus, the EADS Elbe Aircraft Works and the Russian partners to UAC and IRKUT A320/321 conversion were also issues discussed to strengthen cooperation with other projects including the possible participation in the new UAC project for a medium-range airliner.

After the meeting, Prime Minister of Saxony with the President of Volga-Dnepr Group, Mr Isaikin, announced the possible extension of  cargo airline flights from Leipzig.

The aviation industry were also for great importance the visit to companies Kazan Helicopter Plant (KVZ), the Kazan Production Association "SP Gorbunov (KAPO) and the Kazan Production Association for Engine (KMPO) in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. After ASIS was able to visit these companies in the last year with a small business delegation was the sheer number of business representatives this time was seen the sharp rise in the interest of the Saxon economy in cooperation with Russian airlines.
The visit to the KVZ headed by State Minister Thomas Jurk. The delegation was received by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan and the President of KVZ. About 40 representatives of the Saxon economy accompanied Mr. Jurk. A large part of them could attend a meeting with two ministers and the senior management. In addition to issues of equipping helicopters they spoken extensively on the possible supply of production equipment.
Equally revealing were the visits and discussions with KAPO and KMPO each with about 20 business representatives. Here again, our delegation received very friendly and open by the company management.
Accordingly, initial feedback, the participating business leaders were satisfied with the results of this trip. The first concrete activities could be agreed.

ASIS is now involved in the joint economic workgroup Tatarstan - Saxony is characterized by the Saxon side, responsible for the activities in the field of aeronautical engineering.
