During the roll-out of the ASIS - AeroSpace Initiative Saxony on 4th Nov 2008, the first "Regional Day of the Saxon aerospace industry" took place in the premises of the Fraunhofer Institute for Non-Destructive Testing of Materials.

The event was hosted by ASIS, the Competence Center Aerospace and Space Technology Saxony / Thuringia (LRT) and the University Centre for Aerospace at the Technical University of Dresden (UZLR).

Focus of the event were the issues of "the future of the Saxon aerospace industry" and "potential for further development of the sector to boom as the driving force". Inaugurated by the Saxon State Minister for Economy and Labor Thomas Jurk, lectures were down by high-ranking representatives from politics, business and science, which got basis for a lively and interesting discussion of the approximately 100 guests out of the regional aerospace branch.

The event focused in the first part of the roll out  and public presentation of the  AeroSpace Initiative Saxony (ASIS), while the second part of the event representatives of regional enterprises  share their experiences, ideas and expectations for networking.
