Cooperation between UAC and Saxony

In 2009 "ASIS - AeroSpace Initiative Saxony" inspired a Russian-Saxon cooperation in the aviation industry. After an initial meeting between the Prime Minister of Saxony, Stanislaw Tillich, and the President of the Russian aerospace holding company UAC (United Aircraft Corporation), Alexey Fedorov in April 2009, the cooperation between the Russian and Saxon aviation industries was sealed in Moscow in December of the same year with a cooperation agreement between the SMWA and UAC. Since then, Russian and Saxon companies and research institutions have cooperated closely. ASIS has assumed a coordinating role there.

During the act of signing the memorandum of understanding in Moscow  representatives of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the German Embassy in Moscow were present. The Saxon aviation experts engaged in a vivid discussion with regard to core topics as issues of technology transfer and possible ways of financing the planned projects with more than 20 representatives of UAC companies and Russian research institutions.
